Plastic Thermoforming is the process of heating sheet plastic and forming it into or over a mold. The Thermoforming process uses vacuum, air pressure and/or mechanical forming assists to move the softened plastic in contact with the shape of the forming mold. Thermoforming molds are usually made of aluminum and are water cooled. When the heated and softened plastic comes in contact with the cool mold the plastic sets in the shape of the mold.
